This provides the control parameters for nonlinear static analysis

Definition

Load increment

In a nonlinear analysis the load can all be applied at the start - single load increment or in automatic load increments.  If the latter then the proportion of the total loads applied in the first load increment should be specified.

Initial load condition

There are three initial load conditions

No initial load – no initial load is considered on the structure

Load case – this load is applied at the start of the analysis and remains constant throughout the analysis. This can be used, for example, for dead loads.

Analysis case – the analysis starts from the results of the specified analysis case - the initial analysis case can be a linear static analysis or nonlinear analysis.
