Release Description​

AdSec 10.1.1 introduces the highly anticipated DXF Profile Import feature, allowing engineers to seamlessly bring complex section component outlines from CAD directly into AdSec. This release also transforms the sections list into a powerful Results Summary view. By providing both overall and task-specific envelopes at a glance, this update offers a much faster route for engineers to visualise, compare, and validate results across different sections and tasks.

Beyond these core features, we have implemented significant UI refinements, standardising table formats across the application for a more consistent and professional experience. We have also delivered substantial performance optimisations for large datasets and addressed several critical bugs related to data consistency, result reporting, and unit handling, ensuring that AdSec remains the most reliable tool for your section analysis workflows.

What's new?​

  • DXF Profile Import: Users can now define section component outlines by importing DXF files, replicating the popular functionality from AdSec 8.4. This initial release focuses on component perimeters, providing a streamlined workflow for complex geometries.
  • Results Summary View: The sections list has been enhanced with task summaries and analysis data columns. This allows engineers to visualise worst-case results at a glance and easily compare performance between different sections and tasks using both overall and task envelopes.
  • Enhanced Analysis Tables: Significant updates to table formatting and consistency across the application, including improved results differentiation for design codes like BS 5400 and BS 8110.

Performance and behaviour​

  • Improved performance when handling large datasets by truncating results in the UI while maintaining full data on export. [ADSEC-2843, ADSEC-2842]
  • Made envelope calculations asynchronous with a loading indicator to improve responsiveness. [ADSEC-2817]
  • Added a progress indicator for section analysis in the report tab. [ADSEC-2841]
  • Implemented lazy evaluation for manual section profile entry to prevent unnecessary backend calls. [ADSEC-2741]

Fixes​

  • Fixed an issue where copy/pasting task data could be corrupted by invalid reduction factors in certain design codes. [ADSEC-3001]
  • Fixed an issue where crack width checks could be omitted on some external faces of a section when working with BS 5400. [ADSEC-2940, ADSEC-2847]

What's new?​

  • ULS / SLS differentiation: Analysis tasks are now explicitly defined as ULS or SLS, providing clearer separation of design checks and more focused results and reporting.

  • Analysis task definition toolbar: A new toolbar gives quick access to key analysis controls, including limit state, input type, load term, and creep coefficient.

  • Consolidated rich outputs: Outputs such as neutral axis position and serviceability deformation are now available directly in the main results table.

  • Stress–strain results in tables: Maximum and minimum stresses and strains are now reported in the main results table for faster review.

  • Results envelope display: Minimum and maximum result envelopes are now shown beneath the main table, helping you quickly identify governing values.

  • Moment–Stiffness–Curvature chart: Moment–Stiffness and Moment–Curvature charts have been combined into a single, unified view.
