# Member Restraints at Points
You can define restraint conditions along the length of 1D Members, which can be either be at points or along spans. Points are marked by nodes that lie on the member whereas a span is made up of at least one constituent element along the member.
You can specify the restraint conditions for individual points if you set the 'All Points' member restraint option to 'Advanced'.
# Internal Points
Add, Delete, Modify, +, -
Buttons to add, delete and modify point restraints. Add and Modify invoke the Restraint Definition dialog for points, which then allows translational and rotational modes to be set. The 'Point' field in the Restraint Definition dialog relates the index of the node for which the restraint is being modified. For example if the internal nodes along the member are 3, 6, and 5, point 1 edits the restraint at node 3, point 2 edits the restraint at node 6 and so on.
The +/- allow the point numbers to be incremented or decremented.
