Projected Axes

When working with 2D elements it is often desirable to inspect results transformed into user defined directions in the plane of the element. Standard or user defined axis sets may be specified as output axes for this purpose.

So as to arrive at an axis set that lies in the plane of the element, GSA ‘projects’ the xy plane of the specified axis set on to the element. The method applied for projecting the axes is the same as for calculating ‘2D element axes defined by axis set’, as described in the 2D element axes section.
