Explicit time history analysis - load definition
Analysis termination time
The analysis will start from time zero, this termination time defines the duration of the analysis, once the analysis time reaches or passes this time, the analysis will stop.
Load curve and load description
This table is used to define the dynamic loads and their variations based on the load curves. The load curve in the first column is used to define the variations of the load or load combination given in the second column. There is no limit for the number of load curves and loads to be used in the analysis.
Analysis option
Two options available and they are linear and geometrically nonlinear. If linear option is selected, the analysis will be geometrical linear analysis, i.e. geometrically nonlinear effects are ignored. If geometrically nonlinear is selected, the analysis will be geometrically nonlinear analysis, i.e. large deformation and element geometric stiffness are considered. If elastic-plastic material is used for some or all elements, the elastic-plastic material properties will be considered for the relevant elements.
Initial deformation and loads
This allows the analysis to be started from the end of another analysis, e.g. the time history analysis can start from the end of a static analysis with only self-weight loads. Once this option is defined by giving an analysis case number that has analysis results, the analysis will start after moving all the nodes to the deformed positions according to the given analysis case, the loads used in the given analysis case will be included and kept constant during the explicit time history analysis.
