The frequency damping table defines the critical damping ratio as a function of frequency. It is used by harmonic analysis, time history analysis and footfall induced vibration analysis when the damping ratios for modes vary with frequency. Values are interpolated from the table. Frequencies outside the range use the nearest specified value.

Description

Damping table consists of a series pair of data that gives the frequency and the corresponding total critical damping ratio. The description is a string in the form of (f1,d1) (f2,d2) (f3,d3) ... to describe each pair of the frequency and damping ratio. The description can be typed directly in the table or entered as a table in the wizard.

Frequency damping curves can be exported and imported as text (.txt or .csv) files.
