Apply Offsets

Typically models are built with beam elements connecting at nodes, but this implies an overlap as it ignores the dimensions of the elements modelled as lines.

Offset

There are a number of offset options available. Beams can be offset to element faces (offset in xy plane), beams can be offset to be level with column nodes (offset in z), or alternatively the reference point of the section can be modified. The most general option allows offsets to be assigned to elements by individual section.
