Create a Node/Beam to 2D Element Constraint

It can be convenient to connect a node or beam element to a 2D element mesh where there is no topological connectivity. This can be achieved through a set of constraint equations.

Definition

Node/Beam

The node or beam element to be connected to the face of the 2D element.

2D Element

The 2D element which forms the other half of the connection

Link Type

The link can be either a tied or rigid constraint. The rigid option constrains the 2D element to which the node is tied.

Stages

The stages to which this constraint should apply.

Tolerance

If there is a node on the 2D element within this tolerance, the node will be linked directly to this node rather than a set of constraint equation connecting the whole face.
